Medical students are attached to the surgery for four or five week units from August through to May each year. All the students are in their 4th or final year of their course at Manchester University, and come here to gain experience in general practice.
The students are placed with both doctors and nurses; the receptionist may ask when you attend for an appointment if you have any objection to the student’s presence, or if you mind seeing the student on his/her own prior to seeing your doctor.
The students do find this time invaluable and rewarding, and your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
