COVID-19 GUIDANCE IN LOCAL HEALTHCARE SETTINGS TO REMAIN UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Following the end to mandatory social distancing and mask wearing in daily life on 19 July, please be advised that if you are visiting a healthcare setting such as GP surgery, community clinic or hospital, you will still be required to wear a facemask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

We are still seeing rising cases of COVID-19 in our communities and in admission to our local hospitals so despite the easing of restrictions in our daily lives, we must continue to follow a rigorous process in health and care settings to keep our patients and our colleagues safe.

Despite any changes coming into force from Monday 19 July in the communitycurrent guidance remains in place in hospitals, GP and other primary care buildings and services in central Lancashire, and will not change at this time.

Therefore, all health and social care staff, volunteers, patients and visitors will still be required to continue to follow the below:

  • HANDS: Wash hands regularly with soap and water or hand gel if hand washing facilities are not available
  • FACE: Wear a face covering in practice buildings
  • SPACE: Stay at least 2m away from people wherever possible and ensure you follow the social distancing measures in place

Thank you for helping us continue to keep our patients and staff safe during these continued challenging times.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING BLOOD TESTS
There is a national shortage of blood specimen tubes for healthcare organisations.
In order to ensure ongoing supplies of blood specimen tubes where they are most needed, GP practices have been asked by NHS England to only order blood tests in clinically urgent cases.
These include:
Bloods needed for two week wait referral.
Bloods that are extremely overdue and / or essential for safe prescribing or monitoring a condition.
Taking of blood that could avoid a hospital admission or onward referral.
Conditions with a risk of death or disability
ALL OTHER NON-URGENT PRIMARY CARE AND COMMUNITY TESTING HAS BEEN HALTED UNTIL 17 SEPTEMBER 21 AT THE EARLIEST.
We will contact anyone who needs their appointment cancelling due to this and have removed the blood appointment slots from online booking.
Many thanks for your patience.

Blood Test Results

If a clinician at the surgery has asked you to have blood tests, please remember it is the patient's responsibility to contact the surgery approximately 5 days after the bloods have been taken for the results. Reminder letters will no longer be sent out for repeat bloods due.

Text Reminders

We have commenced using a text and email reminder service at the surgery. This will be used in many positive ways such as:

  • Appointment confirmation and reminders. The patient can also cancel their appointment via text or email.
  • Campaigns such as flu, shingles etc.
  • Gathering data for eg: Friends and Family, smoking status.
  • Sending out our Newsletter and patient questionnaires ( email )

For this service to be effective we need up to date mobile telephone numbers and email address. Please contact the surgery to update your contact details. You can use the Update Contact Form below.

IF YOU DO NOT WISH FOR US TO CONTACT YOU VIA EMAIL OR TEXT MESSAGE, PLEASE ADVISE THE SURGERY AND WE CAN BLOCK YOUR NUMBER AND/OR EMAIL BEING USED.
